Poem: A True Romance

There is a good article from Dale Ahlquist titled “Sometimes You Have to Fight” which talks about why people fight for what they love and how this relates to the Church’s view on the matter. http://www.houseonthemoor.com/Summer-Fall06/Sometimes.html I’ve taken these ideas and melded them with my own thoughts to make this poem.

A True Romance
By Lou Sciaroni
11/26/2006

Where romance lives,
One stands on guard.
Defends with all,
If love is harmed.

Present too, an
Awe and wonder;
Where there’s a void,
Rome’s pith asunder.

If these subsist,
Romance survives.
Devotion lost --
The splendor dies.
